Summary
Reliquary, continental, in the form of a Saint. Gilded head and shoulders bust with pierced, removable halo. Remnants of red paint to details including on lips. Cloudy, semi-translucent oval panel to the centre of the chest, to hold reliquary. On stylised scroll base. In notebook no.4, page 32 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 17. A Reliquary Bust of a Saint with Halo, the whole gilt. Italian. 2' 1"'

believed to have been made or modified by CP Wade Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
