Summary
Figure; Buddha - Thai seated Buddha cast in bronze. Gilded overall with small, mirrored pieces, on three tiered base. Seated in the lotus position with winged decoration to the knees, shoulders, and headdress. The Buddha is seated beneath a three tiered metal pierced canopy. Touches of red paint. Base filled with charred stone. Rod through metal loops at the back to support the canopy. In notebook no.4, page 55 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 259. Gold Figure of Burmese God seated cross legged on throne under a three tier canopy. 12"'.
