Burmese palm leaf book, red lacquer cover boards decorated with an intricate pattern in gold containing pages of two books, one written in black on silver leaf, the other black on gold leaf on a design in red. All leaves loose. Holes for textile loop. In notebook no.4, page 54 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 244. Palm Leaf Book red lacquer boards decorated with a pattern in gold, contains pages of two books, one written in black on silver leaf with design at ends, the other written with raised black lacquer on a gold background & a design in red, 22" x 4".'
