Summary
Black and white portrait photograph, printed on paper stuck in white photographer's card (carte de visite). Below picture is printed 'Southwell Bros'. On reverse, is printed ''Southwell Brothers Photographers Royal 22 Baker Street & 64A New Bond Street London. The negative of this carte is especially adapted for the purpose of producing an enlarged copy, (even to life size) which may be highly finished in sepia, oil or water colours'; in pencil 'Mr. Jenkins 18405 (Rose Bulwer of Heydon)'. The picture is of a lady seated in a studio setting of a curtain and a window. She is wearing a voluminous dress, and is reading a book.
