Summary
Large, diamond-shaped hatchment. Canvas in a black, wooden frame. Depicts a quartered shield featuring a griffin and a thistle, topped with a helmet with a plume; beneath, a banner reads ‘MORS IANU VITAE’. Shield painted in white, red, gold and black; the banner white with black text; the helmet silver and gold. Evidence of repair in bottom left. Flaking paint. Originally in Unicorn.
