Summary
Architectural drawing and plan - Architectural plan by Charles Paget Wade on sugar paper with wash on which a watercolour painting is mounted. Top of mount headed 'Market House for a Country Town' with illumination of capital 'M' in gold leaf and embroidery. Watercolour painting of the view over town out to sea, Some buildings labeled. Signed ‘C.Wade. inv anno dom 1908' in a scroll Below, a square drawing marked 'Ground Plan', shows a plan of the town in the painting. Various buildings identified. In the centre, 2 small mother-of-pearl rectangles. At the bottom left hand side of the paper is written 'Charles Wade ARIBA DID THIS Anno Dom 1908'. On the reverse, two additional pieces of paper are stuck behind the gold leaf and mother-of-pearl.
