Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on card, believed to be Olive Muriel Wade (1885-1958) as a Child, British (English) School. c.1889. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a young girl, facing, her head tilted slightly to her right, wearing a white smock with pointed angular lace collar. Brown eyes, thick fair hair, probably aged about 4. In a glazed, oval frame with gold edge. Inset into maroon velvet surround, with two folding sides so it can be closed, all covered in padded navy-coloured leather, has small catch at base of left side. Fold-out stand on the back.

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
