Summary
Heraldic shield - Painted wooden shield in red and white with three hog-like creatures, with pointed ears. "Coat of Arms of Thirlewall" (engraved on top left corner). 'Thirlewall - one of the old Wades took the name Thirlewall and built Thirlewall Castle in Northumberland.' (M Jessup)
