Summary
Model - Plaster representation of an elevation of the one of the lateral window at the Mirador de Lindaraja in the Alhambra. Cast from a mould in plaster. Polychromed and gilted. Unframed.Opening at base backed with blue velvet. Signed on right side by ‘Contreras’. White paper label stuck on revers, printed in Spanish “Reduced 1:12 from the original. In its inscriptions we can read: “Glory to the conqueror of cities, to the nobleman of all centuries, our Lord Abu-Abdil-Lah, from the splendorous lineage of the Ausares.” There are other inscriptions in this hall, there is one that reads: “I am the garden an eye full of jubilation, and the pupil is the thruth of our Lord”. This model is part of the complete collection of Alhambra models by R. Contreras, lonely maker and owner” In notebook no.4, page 62 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 329. The 'Alhambra' detail model of Arch, coloured & gilt.'
