Summary
Model - Plaster representation of an elevation of one of the balconies at the Comares Hall in the Alhambra. Cast from a mould in plaster. Mostly uncoloured. Polychromed at the “azulejos” frieze. Sections at base painted in a blue and white pattern like tiling. Carved beneath the two windows ‘La Alhambra’ and ‘por Contreras’. Blue velvet backing.In plain wooden frame with gilded inner. In notebook no.4, page 68 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 376-7. The 'Alhambra' 2 detail models in plaster, one coloured.'.
