Summary
One of three hatchments, painted on canvas with wooden frame, this one of the English Hanoverian arms after 1803 – a lion and a unicorn holding two medallions surmounted by a crown and a lion. ‘Dieu et mon droit’ in banner beneath. In notebook no.1, page 74 (1340945.1) Charles Wade refers to: 'Meridian 29. Small Hatchment Arms of W.IV probably a sample of Funeral Heraldic painter for his window, with supporting crest.' Includes sketch.
