Summary

Postillion boot - Heavy leather high boots, left hand one has extra protection over instep and a nine point iron spur. CPW Item number 463 (Cottage Kitchen) - 'Pair of postillion boots with one spur'. Charles Wade includes a painting of the harness room of his family home 'Elmsley' in his Yoxford notebook (1340944) on page 164, the painting includes a pair of similar boots.
