Summary
Mask from Bali of carved wood painted maroon having nose of exaggerated length, bulbous devil eyes, thick eyebrows and single gold swirling line decoration to each side of the face. Black painted moustache. Row of upper teeth visible through opened mouth. Holes at eyes, nose and mouth. Paint badly worn and chipped. White paper label with red border inside – ‘No.3335 F2.50’.
