Summary
Mask from Bali of carved wood painted gold all over with black, red, and white bulbous eyes having black painted brows and round ended moustache over red lips and gold teeth. Black painted curled hair to sides of head crowned with a circlet of feather design coloured red and grey, with thin black lining overall. Leather thong nailed inside. Crack in left cheek has been repaired with two textile stitches, and repainted. Two holes at the top. Red and white sticky label inside reads ‘No. UH204 f1.75'. n notebook no.4, page 46 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 140.
