Summary
Meerschaum pipe bowl, with shaped figure of a running horse and leaves. Surface darker around rim of bowl and opposite end. Note: meerschaum German translation: Meer - 'sea', and Schaum - 'foam', in reference to its frothiness. Hydrated magnesium silicate, found mainly in Turkey, it resembles clay, and was commonly used for pipe bowls.
