Summary
Violin Bow (short full-size, c.1880. 'This is a slightly short full sized violin bow. 728mm overall, 712.5 without the adjuster. The brand stamp has been obliterated, but looks as though it might have read “TOURTE”. The stick is of Brazilwood, finished with a non-traditional coating of red tinted shellac varnish. The frog, which is of a low grade ebony, with mother of pearl eyes, is fully mounted with nickel silver fittings' From Padraig ó Dubhlaoidh's report 2006.
