Summary
Violin Bow, ¾ size, probably German, 19th century. 'This is a ¾ size violin bow, probably German. Length 663mm or 648 excluding the adjuster. The pernambuco stick is round and is fitted with a coarse grained ebony frog. The frog is nickel mounted and has two mother of pearl eyes, both slightly damaged. The slide is abalone and the lapping is red stained leather. There is no separate thumb leather. The adjuster is three piece ebony and nickel'. From Padraig ó Dubhlaoidh's report 2006.
