Summary
Sheng, (Chinese mouth organ), 20th century. Mouth-blown free-reed instrument. 17 bamboo pipes of varying length, small hole near the base of all but 2 pipes. Three pipes have metal fittings pierced with heart decoration two of which have a slit on outer surface, the others having a slit on inner surface.. Pipes held by a metal band. Wooden chamber lacquered with brown and gold leaf decoration. Wooden black painted mouth piece, non-original.
