Summary
Harp-Lute, Light, London, c.1818. Marked 'LIGHT, FOLEY PLACE, LONDON, No 670'. 12 strings. Painted in black with gold decoration of foliage and urns around the edge; two horns beneath the strings; cartouche of tambourine, a horn and strings. Rose in the form of a sunburst. Gilded harp column with acanthus top. Curved back in 6 sections with two elongated holes. In notebook no.4, page 3 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Music Room 3. Harp Lute by Ed. Knight a rayed fret c.1810'.
