Summary
Harp-Lute, Light, London, c.1817(?) Marked 'LIGHT, FOLEY PLACE, LONDON No.586'. 12 strings. Gilt rose in form of sunburst. Painted black, gold decoration of foliage around the outside and around sound hole, and a small cameo of a woman and child at a desk. Gilded harp column. With acanthus top. Curved back in 6 sections, two elongated holes. In notebook no.4, page 3 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Music Room 2. Harp Lute by Ed. Knight a rayed fret c.1810'.
