Summary
Slide trumpet by Henry Smith, Wolverhampton. c.1840. Engraved 'HENRY SMITH, MAKER, WOLVERHAMPTON' in a cartouche on the horn. Brass with ornate silver mounts. Double slide box, spring broken. In notebook no.4, page 5 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Music Room 37. Slide Trumpet of Brass c.1800.' 'Silver and copper state trumpet £4' (M. Jessup).
