Clarinet in B-flat by James Wood, London, c.1810. Marked ‘J.WOOD 50 NEW COMPTON ST. SOHO, LONDON’ on the bell. Ebony with ivory mounts, and nine silver keys. In five sections plus mouthpiece. In notebook no.4, page 9 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Music Room 94. Clarinet of Ebony & Ivory , with silver keys, J. Wood, London.'
