Summary
Concert flute by G. Astor (1801-1840), London, c.1810. Marked 'G. ASTOR & Co. LONDON PATENT' on all five sections. Boxwood with ivory mounts. Four silver keys. Pewter plug ends. Tuning slide on head joint. Stamped with '79 Cornhill Union' on the two end sections. Head and foot sections metal lined. Cork insert in head joint. In notebook no.4, page 10 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Music Room 112. Flute maple & ivory by G. Astor & Co.'
