Summary
Two horse bells. Secured to wood block which has a leather strip all round fastened by brass pins. The bells are spherical, cast pattern on outside and initials 'RW'. See SNO.M.860. Bells are carried on spiked iron support. Chris Pickford, Nov. 2009 - Of a type called crotals or rumblers. Both signed RW for Robert Wells – probably Robert Wells I, late C18th.
