Summary
Carriage lamp - One of a pair of metal carriage lanterns with silvered interior. Two glazed panels with copper band to chimney piece. Ring carrying handle. Brass candle holder with plaque showing a coat of arms and “Holden & Lowe Improv’d London”. Converted to electricity. In notebook no.5, page 94 (1340495.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Large garret no.554 pair of lamps for Cabriolet of iron with Sheffield plate reflectors and candle socket.' Includes sketch with dimensions.
