Summary
One of five Goffering irons of various sizes. Iron tube, closed and pointed at one end, mounted via a curved iron support on a small embossed stand with a fleur-de-lys pattern, and with 'Kenrick marked on base in a semi-circle. Evidence of green paint. (An iron which is used to crimp or make wavy, flute, or crimp a lace edge or trimming.) In notebook no.5, page 7 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Top Royal no.41 Three Italian irons'. Includes sketch of iron and heating poker.
