Summary
One of five Goffering irons of various sizes. Brass tube, closed at one end, mounted on an ornate iron and brass stand on four acorn feet. (An iron which is used to crimp or make wavy, flute, or crimp a lace edge or trimming.) In notebook no.5, page 23 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Top Royal no.677 Italian Iron with brass barrel on turned iron stem & turned feet'. Includes sketch with dimensions.
