Summary
One of five Goffering irons. Iron tube, pointed at one end, open at the other. Mounted via a curved iron support on a round pressed-in base painted black with 'Kenrick 11' stamped in it. (An iron which is used to crimp or make wavy, flute, or crimp a lace edge or trimming.) In notebook no.5, page 7 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Top Royal no.41 Three Italian irons'. Includes sketch of iron and heating poker.
