Summary

Crimping iron fixed to decayed wooden base with cast iron uprights painted blue/green. Well turned brass drums. Tensioning spring missing. Turned wooden handle. In notebook no.5, page 8 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Lace Room no.51 Crimping Machine of Brass, with irons for heating' Includes sketch with dimensions.

Provenance

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
