Summary

Small portable deity shrine with folding doors. Outside black lacquer with copper latch, hinges and engraved decorative plates. Inside of doors gilded. Deity missing, but label on reverse reads 'Kwanon, Buddhist god of mercy.'

Provenance

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
