Summary
A large oak panelled box bed. Entered through the opening on the long side enclosed by curtains and using the box-seat settle as a step up, which has shaped ends and a 17th century iron hasp and lock plate. The interior has a box-spring and mattress and Charles Paget Wade's bedding which are inventoried separately, there are also two small niche cupboards painted red and ivory concealed behind sliding panels. CPW Item 107 and 113 (Gallery Room) - 'Box bed of oak panelling, in the side wall are two sliding panels, concealing two small cabinets fitted with drawers decorated with vermillion and ivory white designs. Pierced metal gilded valance to top drawer. The right hand cabinet has small drawers hidden behind the upper part which slides out after removal of top drawer.'
