Wooden wool winder having central column with sliding collar around which six extending arms are attached. Arms linked with pieces of string. Holes in central column but no holding peg.Circular base. Sticky label on base with early NT ref SNO/DC30. In notebook no.5, page 7 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Top Royal no.38 Expanding Skein Winder'. Includes sketch.
