Summary
Early 19th century prisoner of war work sewing box. The lid and body (except base) overlaid and stained reeds, the lid with an octagonal floral panel to the sides and architectural scenes. Four bone thread holes to the front of the box. Inside has lined compartment for four thread holes to the front of the box. Inside has lined compartment for four thread bobbins (bobbins in longer present in box).

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
