Summary
Trap; Mousetrap - Wooden mousetrap, rectangular. Caged end (iron bars) and side, simple trap device on top and fall front door. Hinged door at back. Pivoting beam on top hold front door up. Piece of bent wire holds other end of beam and extends into trap. When mouse touches it, it releases the beam allowing the door to drop. Ramp approach to the front. In notebook no.4, page 107 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Weaver Room 75. Old Mouse Trap of oak' Includes sketch with dimensions. In his notebook recalling his memories of Yoxford (1340944/SNO.MISC.955, pages 26 - 27) CPW recalls the village rat catcher 'Robert Cordle' and includes a pencil sketch of a mousetrap of this design.
