Summary
Driving machine for the Warping Mill (1332111.1). An oak frame, with stones (flints) in the base to weight it down. A continuous belt made of rope passes around a horizontal, grooved, wooden, pulley wheel and on to a similar wheel on the mill. The wheel is turned by means of a vertical, cranked iron handle held near the top by the oak frame. Charles Paget Wade bought this in Suffolk with the mill and loom. In notebook no.4, page 88-89 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Spinning Room Top Gallant no.29' where the driving machine is included in a description of the Warping Mill, with a sketch.
