Summary
Bobbin winder with a hoop wheel with metal crank handle (wooden grip missing) and old cloth band, four legs much repaired. Trough at end contains two wooden spools holding black and grey silk, one large metal spool holding red silk, and two small metal spools holding white and beige silk. In notebook no.4, page 91 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Weavers Room 4. A ribbon wheel for winding the bobbins from the parting rice, used by Alice Howsden'. Includes sketch.
