Summary
Coloured print entitled 'Queen Caroline's Triumph over her enemies' showing seated Queen in a carriage drawn by two lions, holding an oval portrait of Alderman Wood. A cherub behind the carriage is placing a crown on her head. Her right hand rests on a pile of 4 scrolls each marked ‘Address’. Below the title: 'Publish’d as the act directs Feby 8th 1821 by P & P Gally 9 Turnmill Street Clerkenwell'. This commemorates Alderman Wood's City address to Caroline of Brunswick, Princess of Wales, wife of future King George IV, in February 1813, after an investigation into her private life found no evidence of adultery. One of a pair with 1329801/SNO.D.537.
