Summary
Sword; Wakizashi, (Japanese sword) with apparently unsigned blade. Steel blade with brass ferrule and two brass spacers. Iron scrollwork tsuba (inventoried separately 1328829/SNO.A.223). Wooden handle covered with cream fish skin and black textile webbing. Menukis of bronze and gilt showing a spray of flowers. Fuchi (Collar) embossed with birds and corn. Black lacquered wooden scabbard with hole for carrying strap. Scabbard contains a small sharpening tool with brown wooden handle with carved diagonal stripes. Sticky label to blade but unable to view.
