Summary
Spear; Sankaku-yari. Japanese spear. Long steel blade head, triangular in section with grooved channel painted red. Set in iron and brass ferrule pierced with heart decoration. Long wooden black painted shaft. The top third is inlaid with square fragments of mother-of-pearl. Two further brass bands, one set above a gold painted textile grip. The lower half is brown painted, rifged wood with a blunt metal spike to the end.

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
