Summary
Pole weapon; Naginata, (Japanese pole weapon) unsigned blade probably 19th century. Steel detachable blade with red painted gullies. Brass collar. Connects to a wooden black lacquered, oval section,ridged wood pole with one large carved metal fitting with pierced heart decoration. Three plain metal bands below. mother-of-pearl fragment decoration to upper third of shaft. Beige textile grip. Iron band (and spade shaped spike at lower end). Sticky label on blade '29'..
