Summary
Pole weapon; Naginata, (Japanese pole weapon) with unsigned blade probably 19th century. The steel blade detaches from pole and has a red painted blood gulley. Copper fitting inscribed with grasses. Fitted to a long black lacquer pole with red painted cord grip and gold 'crackled' decoration. Finished at top with a metal finial with heart pierced decoration. Blunt metal spike to lower end. Sticky label to blade '27'.
