Summary
Naginata (Japanese pole weapon), unsigned blade probably 19th century. Steel curved blade with two red painted shallow grooves. Long, flattened wooden pole covered with black lacquer. Two metal ferrules pierced with heart decoration and four plain metal bands. Top third inlaid with square fragments of mother-of-pearl. Below this is a carved simulated cord grip painted gold. Poor condition, missing spike at base. Sticky label to blade '30'.
