Summary
Matchlock musket, India, 19th century Round barrel with swollen breech, decorated with tiny punch marks for its entire length. Swivel pan cover. Attached to stock by four brass wire bands. Red wood stock of usual form, with inlaid horn panels in the butt and beneath the breech, and horn butt cap. Fluted ivory block behind the breech. Steel lockplates with decorative borders. Fitted with sling suspension loop. Ramrod missing. Typical Indian matchlock mechanism with bar trigger. Striker and pan missing.

Matchlock musket, India, 19th century. Round iron barrel with swollen breech and turned mouldings. Decorated with small punch marks over its entire surface. Fitted with a foresight and rear sight. Integral flash-pan with hinged cover. Retained to the stock by 4 barrel bands of brass wire. Ramrod missing. Length: 113.5m. Calibre 20mm. Straight full stock of red wood, inlaid with horn and with fluted horn panels behind the breech. Horn butt-cap. Steel side-plates with decorative boarders. Steel suspension ring. Enclosed matchlock of typical Indian construction and form. Overall length: 1164.5mm
