Summary
Mongolian shield- steeply convexed and elephant hide covered with brown leather, tooled with copper alloy mounts. Tapered panels with studded silver decoration, metal dome surmounted by flat silver metal disc. On reverse, red tooled leather lining. Large central handles, wood covered in leather. Two leather loops either side.

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
