Summary
Small Indo-Persian shield, four rosette shaped studs, steel. Satin finished with gold arabesque decoration in relief. Stylised floral border in gold. Red velvet padded lining. Gold braid around the edge. On reverse, red velvet lining. pinned around the edge. Purple velvet, square Padded cushion, lined with gold and green in the centre, with two velvet covered, leather handles on brass rings attached to iron posts on the back of the front studs. 'Qajar shield, western India, 19th century' (M. Jessup).

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
