Full description
Charles Paget Wade notebook number 387 (1340945.3; SNO.MISC.959.3) : 'Suit of Armour. The whole of Black lacquer braided green – with coral red borders. Helmet of 32 plate with horns. Large wings & wide neck guard. Blazon. Large shoulder guards. Body piece (sketch of detail alongside) of horizontal plates. Sleeves chain & lacquer plaques. Apron half round plaques each on an apricot & gold brocade. Leg pieces chain & lacquer. Green silk waist cord with tassels. Lacquered mask. Sword in sheath of stippled lacquer. Inset with mosaic design in white.
