Summary
Leather scabbard with naval sword (1328727.1/SNO.A.27.1). Has three brass fittings with engraved patterns, two with brass hanging loops for strap. Top fitting inscribed 'PRESENTED TO MR.F.P. HART R.N. BY THE CHIEF and 1ST CLASS P.Os. OF H.M.S. BACCHANTE. AS A TOKEN OF GREAT ESTEEM. MARCH 1908.' Peg on top fitting to engage with hinged part of sword’s hand guard. Given to Charles Wade by FP Hart who was a close friend.
