Summary
Court sword with hilt and oval guard decorated with facetted cut steel beads. Concave triangular blade part blued with gilt engraving. Black leather scabbard with three steel mounts. Contained in wooden glass fronted lockable display case with court swords SNO.A.19 and 20. Previously displayed over door to Stairs in Meridian. Paper label handwritten by Charles Paget Wade on reverse of case reads 'SWORDS (underlined) belonged to the Berners Family of Wolverstone Park near Ipswich.'
