Summary
An oak box-seat settle/table, also known as a 'Monk's Bench', English, circa 1900. The hinged rectangular top can be up for use as a seat or down for use as a table, the underside carved with a stylised armorial within a foliate cartouche, the box-seat with a hinged lid and carved front panel centred with a mask, on plinth with bun feet.
