Summary

One of three wooden bark cloth mallets with cylindrical heads heavily incised with ridges. Collected Kenya 1930's. See photographs in Kenya album showing mallets in use. Lord Egerton investigated the commercial potential of bark cloth in the 1930's. Part of Lord Egerton's collection of ethnographic objects once displayed in the Tenants' Hall
